Students from the Sixth Form College Farnborough took part in a free Adobe Foundation Screenskills event last week at Farnborough International Studios.
The Adobe Foundation funded event held in partnership with Screenskills, Rushmoor Borough Council and nDreams welcomed students from the Inspire programme which focuses on ensuring that all students have access to fantastic opportunities to hear from professionals in the gaming, post production, TV and Film and Animation industries to open their eyes to the raft of creative industries that are in and around the Farnborough area.
The cohort were given presentations on each area industry from experts in their fields including Jon Wills, Principal Programmer at immersive VR game developers NDreams based in Farnborough, Kate Vaisey, freelance Visual Effects Supervisor and Producer, Pete Nicholson, freelance Animator and Rachel Morrison Director, Farnborough International Studios.
The day also included a tour of the sound stages and production facilities before visiting Farnborough International Space Show at the onsite Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre to speak to creatives in the Space industry and listen to main stage session with Peter Taylor, Head of Operations, BBC Studios.
At the event the group also met with Alex Baker, MP for Aldershot and Farnborough to discuss their day and their future aspirations for working in the creative industries.
